The handles are internally strengthened.
The tie downs are strengthened and adjustable.
Locking mechanisms are fitted to limit access to the spa.
We use proven U.V. resistant vinyl (proven over 17 years of use).

Swimming Pool Covers

Thermal Blanket – Contact us for a quote

Thermal Blankets are the ultimate heat retention option. They retain heat, and they do it very well. If you are serious about heating your pool with a desire for higher temperatures and a long swim season then in New Zealand the bulk of your heat will be coming down the pipe from an external heat source. Don’t heat the sky – use the superior heat retention capabilities of a Duokote Thermal Blanket to keep that expensive heat in the pool. If you want a heated pool, a Duokote cover translates into huge energy savings.

Thermal covers for pools are essentially insulators. Unlike solar pool covers, thermal pool blankets don’t heat the water; they retain the heat, and they do it very well. A quality, well-fitted thermal pool blanket can retain a significant proportion of your pool water’s temperature. If you have a heated pool, that translates into huge energy savings.

How thermal blankets work

Thermal blanket covers float on the pool surface. The closed cell foam core creates an insulating layer which traps heat in the pool.

applications

All residential and commercial sites that rely on paid heat sources.

construction

Fabricated from physically cross linked polyolefin foam sandwiched between two layers of UV stabilised, polyethylene based polyfabric film. The foam provides the insulation and the outer PE layers provide the strength and durability.

thermal cover care

Never shock dose the pool while the cover is on.
Never dose the pool with algaecides while the cover remains on.
Using a reel will extend the life of the cover.

solar blanket

Solar Blanket pool covers are a smart solution for the New Zealand climate. They cleverly utilise direct solar heating while still doing all the basic functions of a pool cover ( heat retention, reducing chemical use, minimising water loss ).  Extend your season and raise the average pool temperature for no ongoing cost! And remember warm pools get used.

Solar pool covers can raise and hold the water temperature of your inground or above ground swimming pool. It helps to both heat the water, and retain the heat at night, or prevent heat loss from heat-robbing winds. It will reduce your energy costs, minimise water loss, increase heat retention, and decrease chemical needs.

how solar blankets work

Solar Blanket pool covers are designed to fully utilise the suns solar energy. These covers are translucent which allows the suns heat to pass through the cover and heat the pool water directly. The air cells on the bottom of the cover then act as in insulating layer to trap that heat in the pool. The cover also acts as a barrier to minimise evaporation and chemical loss

Solar blanket covers float on the pool surface. The air bubbles create an insulating layer which traps heat in your swimming pool.

each solar blanket can be specified in one of two options:

  • Upgraded – Your solar cover is factory trimmed, edge bound, has re-inforced reel eyelets, boom pocket and pull out ropes. Upgrade features make our solar blanket more durable, easier to use and more attractive.
  • Site Trim – An oversized sheet of bubble plastic is supplied and trimmed to shape on your pool. It is left with a raw edge. The cover is connected to the reel using cords and plastic butterfly clips. This option requires significantly less factory labour, so provides an entry level option for those on a tighter budget.

cover applications

The heavier grades (500 and 600 micron) solar blankets are ideally suited to both residential and commercial / school swimming pools.
The lighter grade (400 micron) solar blanket is ideally suited to smaller residential swimming pools.
Solar blanket covers suit pools that rely solely on the sun for heating.

cover construction

Our solar pool covers are a layer of dimpled clear plastic laminated to a layer of flat clear plastic. The plastic is U.V. stabilised and formulated specifically for the harsh pool environments in New Zealand.

solar blanket care

Never shock dose the pool while the cover is on.
Never dose the pool with algaecides while the cover remains on.
Using a reel will extend the life of the cover.
Use a shroud when the solar cover is on the reel during the peak of the summer.

swimming pool debris covers

A must for pools in leafy, green New Zealand. Our quality, mesh swimming pool debris covers mean no more pool cleaning. The debris cover overlaps the swimming pool to effectively keep your pool clean from leaves, branches, twigs and rubbish in the winter months, or when you’re not swimming in your pool for extended periods.

how our debris covers work

A BMH debris cover overlaps the swimming pool by about 250mm. Using tensioning straps the cover is pulled tight, preventing it from sagging into the pool. The mesh material allows water through, but it stops the majority of the dirt and rubbish from getting into your pool.

applications

Ideal for residential, school and commercial swimming pools.
Our pool debris covers are generally used in the off season.

construction

High grade woven P.E. mesh.
Protection against ultra-violet light due to material containing U.V. inhibitors.
Adjustable tensioning straps around perimeter.
Stainless hooks are permanently attached to each strap.
Holes are drilled into the surrounding deck to take these hooks.

When the cover is removed all that is left are the small holes.
Covers are custom shaped to match your pool.
Covers are made with an anti-chafe strip to resist wear around the edge.

debris pool cover care

Fold carefully and store out of the sun when not in use.
When cleaning the BMH pool debris cover, use mild soapy water and rinse with fresh water.

pool cover – slat automatic pool covers

If aesthetics and ease of use are important to you, then a slat cover for your swimming pool, indoor or outdoor, is a smart investment. Let the good times roll.

Automatic slat covers enhance the experience of pool ownership with the simple turn of a key. An efficient, simple and an exclusive choice for the discerning pool owner, our slat covers are purpose-made to suit a wide range of rectangular swimming pools and we make and install automatic pool covers NZ wide.

how slat automatic pool covers work

Slat covers consists of a series of hollow P.V.C. extrusions known as ‘slats’.
Each slat is sealed to trap a pocket of air.
This air pocket acts as a thermal barrier to insulate the pool.
Slats are joined together using a unique hinge connection which allows the cover to flex as it is wound onto the roller.
The roller system can either be submerged or above ground.
As the cover unrolls the air trapped in the leading slats makes them float.
As more slats are unrolled they push the leading slats forward down the length of the pool.
